The Lys (light) tableware is characterized by its simple, yet ethereal, elegance and versatility. It will look beautiful on its own, or combined with differing patterns. The bone china Lys is inspired by the sunlight hitting the snow, creating beautiful sparks and glittery effects.
Inspired by the reflection of sunlight
Snow is the poetry of winter, falling silently and covering the ground with a soft veil of whiteness. In much the same way a gentle circular pattern of tiny golden rings lightly adorn the edges of the shimmering translucent tableware of the bone china tableware; Lys, the Norwegian word for light.
Experiment with a totally white on white table, or bring in other elements of nature, such as branches, flowers or earthy colours.
The Lys tableware series consists of several pieces produced in bone china, with a fantastic translucency and a glossy and vitreous appearance. It is perfect to combine with pieces from other Wik & Walsøe series Snø, Fnugg and Rosa Slåpe. Tableware of bone china is perfect for special occasions.
Maintenance & Care
Wik & Walsøe porcelain items can be washed in the dishwasher. Place the dishes in the dishwasher so that they do not touch each other during the wash cycle, as that may result in shipping. Fill the dishwasher evenly on both levels. Rinse very dirty dishes before washing them in the dishwasher. Rinsing for example milk glasses before washing in the dishwasher is rec-ommended as dairy products may create a cloudy film on the glass when washed in high temperatures.
The Norwegian design studio Wik & Walsøe was established in 2006. In only a few short years they managed to make their mark as a distinctive new voice within fine porcelain and glass production. Wik & Walsøe is now a major brand in the Norwegian and Scandinavian market, and their products are sold in selected stores internationally. In 2013 Wik & Walsøe were awarded the Female Entrepreneur of the year prize by Innovation Norway. In 2016 Wik & Walsøe celebrate their tenth anniversary.
