Manufacturer Information: Care & maintenance

All our tableware’s can be washed in the dishwasher, but we recommend gentle washing. To keep the porcelain shiny and beautiful for as long as possible, we also recommend the use of shine and protect detergent. A glossy surface makes the porcelain more resistant to scratches and dulling of the glaze.

After a meal, it is good to rinse off the porcelain as soon as possible. Some foods contain strong acids that can cause discoloration of the glaze. It is also important to avoid mechanical wear, like rubbing objects against each other. Also avoid pushing the plates on top of each other in the cabinet, they should be stacked carefully if you want to avoid unnecessary wear. A tip is to place a napkin between each plate.

Scratches and punctures of the glaze can also be caused by e.g. sharp steak knives. Usually black streaks are caused by soft metal from cutlery, if you use quality cutlery in 18/10 steel you will avoid this. Citric acid and a little water can get rid of such steel marks. Tea and coffee can also provide a coating, this can usually be removed by leaving the porcelain for a couple of hours with water and detergent before washing.

Some of our tableware’s are decorated with real gold and platinum and can therefore not be put in the microwave or oven.
